“I practice psychology because I genuinely feel we are all born with a right to be our best. Sometimes obstacles in our lives can make that difficult. I like to help people find a way around these obstacles - to flourish and become satisfied and content with who they are.”
Belinda’s areas of psychological care include:
Individual counselling with children and adults
Behavioural assessment and change
Belinda joined KMM over 14 years ago after 15 years of work in both the government and non-government sectors. Early in her career Belinda cared for traumatised children and families and spent time engaged in disability assessment and care management.
Whilst working with Ballarat United Care in the 1990’s Belinda was a part of a program that received the Premiers award for its ability to establish a partnership between community and industry to provide vital daily essentials for the underprivileged.
After moving to the Surfcoast Belinda worked within industry helping people to deal with work place change and redundancy. She also spent time working within schools and facilitated couples counselling through her role with Catholic Family services in Geelong. Belinda has spent time teaching interpersonal skills for young professionals at the Gordon Technical College.
Belinda’s arrival at KMM was inspired by the clinics holistic approach to an integrated health approach. “To work and live on the coast and to serve people in my immediate community is important to me. I love KMM because the GP’s are willing to embrace healing in a range of modalities. As a community we are lucky to have GP’s open to a care team approach.”
Belinda's areas of care also include dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsion disorder, post-natal depression, grief and loss, personal growth, motivation, chronic pain and adjusting to life changes.
