“I practice medicine because I enjoy the work and interaction with patients. I also really enjoy teaching medical students to help create our next generation of GPs.”
Some areas of care Frank provides include:
General GP duties
Minor procedures such as biopsies, excisions and cortisone injections
Dr Frank Ryan joined KMM in 2007 after spending almost 30 years as a GP in Kilmore north of Melbourne. Originally working as a locum, Dr Ryan loved KMM that much that 9 years later he is still providing compassionate care with a smile for patients aged from 5 days to 95 years old in many areas of patient care.
In conjunction with his KMM role, Dr Ryan is able to do shared care Obstetrics with both Melbourne and Geelong based hospitals including the University Hospital in Geelong. Many trainee student doctors have benefited from his wealth of experience and knowledge in all areas of general practice.
In his spare time Dr Ryan can be found putting flippers on and heading out into the surf for a body board at Jan Juc or Torquay or spending time with his grandchildren. He is an active member of Torquay Life Activities Club, is a part of the Surfcoast Relay for Life team and a volunteer with the St Vincent de Paul Society.
